Grampian Paracyclist, Neil Fachie, has claimed the top title at this year’s Aberdeen Sports Awards.
The tandem cyclist from Aberdeen picked up the Sports Achiever of the Year Award after his successes in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
The Award, which is open to both mainstream and para athletes, had 4 nominees – 3 of them from para sport – demonstrating how far we’ve come in celebrating athletes with a disability.
Neil pipped fellow Paralympians, Toni Shaw & Conner Morrison, at the post after taking home gold in the men’s B 1000m time trial. Toni and Conner, who were competing in their inaugural Games, claimed a Bronze medal and a spot in the finals respectively.
Well done, Neil!
